Specific series rules

 
The series is operated in full compliance of the CCA/UCI regulations, except as other msp indicated in this document.

The series is open to all individual riders with a valid UCI license in the Junior and U23/Elite category.

The series results are compiled in Junior and U23/Elite categories only.

The U23/Elite and Junior categories will start in the following order;

1. U23/Elite M
2. U23/Elite W
3. Junior M
4. Junior W

No other categories may race on the course at the same time as the categories listed above.

Individual and team rankings will be published on the CCA website and updated after each event.

The team ranking will be open to all CCA or UCI teams registered with the Canadian Cycling Association.

The team ranking will be determined based on the Canada Cup points earned by the best athletes from each team in each category (Junior women, Junior men, U23/Elite women and U23/Elite men). In the case of a tie, the final results will be determined as follows: the most wins followed by the best placing at the most recent event .

A rider's four (4) best results will determine his or her final overall ranking.

The team ranking results from all events will determine the team's final overall team ranking.

It is not mandatory to compete in the final race to be classified on the final overall ranking.However,where results avetied the most recent race result will be used as a tie-breaker.

There will be no registrations on the day of the race for Junior and U23/Elite categories. On site registration will close at least 2 days before race day (eg: Thursday if the race is Saturday). After that deadline, a fine of 50$ CDN will be charge on top of the registration fee. Furthermore, the rider will loose their seeding position and will be staged at the back of the pack.

A specific pit area will be available for all CCA and UCI teams. All other teams will be located in the neutral pit area. The organizers will identify the pit areas with a sign “CCA/UCI team/équipes” and a sign “Neutral/Neutre”. Pit passes will be distributed during the rider/team meetings to CCA or UCI teams only. 

A rider call up will be made at the beginning of the race to invite, one by one, all athletes registered in the event to take their position at the start line.

When called to their staging position, the rider must line up immediately. Riders who do not line up immediately when called to the line will loose their seeding position and will be staged at the back of the pack. At least 8 riders will be staged per row. The number of riders per row can be increased at the discretion of the Chief commissoner.  

The rider call up for the first race of the season will be based on the current UCI ranking and by the 2008 final Canada Cup Ranking.

Bike plate and numbers may be reserved for top riders on the Canada Cup ranking as follows;

Junior W= Top 8
Junior M = Top 8
U23/Elite W = Top 8
U23/Elite M = Top 16

All riders must finish their race to receive Canada Cup points.

The top 3 riders at each Canada Cup event will receive an award.

The top 5 athletes at each Canada Cup event will be announced at the official award ceremonies.

Riders must wear clean cycling clothes or official team/sponsors clothes (bottom and top) for the awards ceremony. Failure to comply will result in a fine and the loss of awards (including prize money).

UCI points will be awarded in accordance with the level of sanction of the event for the U23/Elite categories.

All athletes who have placed lower then 5th place, but that are still entitled for prizes in accordance with the prize money awarded at the race, must collect their prizes from the Chief Commissoner or the Technical Delegate after the award ceremonies. Failure to comply, with out having given prior notification, will result in the loss of prizes (including prize money)

The prize list will conform at least to UCI minimum sanction requirements. Prize money amounts will be converted and paid in Canadian dollars.

The leader of the series in the U23Elite category must wear the leaders jersey the canada cup thronghart Failure to comply will result in a fine and disqualification from the race. The leader’s jersey will be distributed at the award ceremony by the Chief commissaire or the Technical Delegate. 

Series prizes will be awarded to the overall winners in the Junior and U23/Elite categories at the last event of the season.

Riders must be members of the  F.Q.S.C. 

Initiation licences will be sold on siteat a cost of $20.

Wearing an approved helmet is mandatory for both training and racing.
